The Occupy Movement, which has sprung up in many cities in the United States, has been attacked by local and state law enforcement officers. It is time for President Barack Obama to step up and protect the citizens. The protesters peaceably assemble and voice their concerns. They have the right to take such action. There are no “time” limits to such actions.
When local law enforcement and public officials, fail to protect the rights of the citizens, it is the function of the federal government to protect the citizen’s rights.
An example of such action taken in the past was during the “Civil Rights Movement” of the 1950’s, especially; when desegregation of public schools began.

September 1957, Central High School in Little Rock Arkansas. The Governor of Arkansas used the National Guard of Arkansas to prevent black students from entering Central High School, which was their right to enter and attend the school. The then President of the U.S. Dwight Eisenhower attempted to de-escalate the situation and summoned Governor Faubus to meet him. The President warned the governor not to defy the Supreme Court's ruling. When the governor ignored the warning, the president sent in the Army and federalized the Arkansas National Guard to protect the rights of the citizens.
Armed escort
Woodrow Nilson Mann, the Mayor of Little Rock, asked President Eisenhower to send federal troops to enforce integration and protect the nine students. On September 24, the President ordered the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army to Little Rock and federalized the entire 10,000 member Arkansas National Guard, taking it out of the hands of Governor Orval Faubus.

The State of the Union at Unrest
Using his Executive Powers he plans to issue is own edicts upon the American populace regardless of what Congress has voted against. President Obama plans to issue Executive Orders to mandate his wishes and wills upon the citizenry. Also, not liking the decsions of the Supreme Court, he urges Congress to put forth legislation that will enable continuation of the campaigning status quo. The President is drunk with power. He stand upon 24 States of National Emergency of which he continued 23 and included another the H1N1 Influenza Pandemic Emergency.
America continues its difference to the world with its unequivical view of the globe and smashing public will in all corners of the Earth. No people may gather and protest their views of poverty and oppression, unless they match the views put forth by U.S. Foreign Policy. If they dare, the dogs of war shall be upon them in the form of Xe, NATO, U.S. Armed Forces, and the CIA. It shows the rather hippocritcal nature of a bankrupt country with unrest beyond history's recollection growing in her belly to step forward on foreign lands and attempt to stabalize social structure, infrastructure, and financial structure with monies taken from children unborn, dreams unmet, and mouths unfed.
A good long look in the mirror should, under normal conditions, be enough to show that a light of reason needs to shine on America herself and in her own closets of the Treasury, of the Federal Reserve Bank, of the Political Lobby, of the Corporatism, and every Executive Branch drunk with delegated authority yet, un wanted by her own people. A closet so stuffed with I.O.U.'s that teleprompters can't keep up with the demand of schemes and back room deals that may be launched one more time to lull a country back to sleep. A country that has awakened to see her founding documents placed upon a shelf and the call number lost with some librarian on her way to audition for an opportunity to be the next American Idol.
A speech which carries truth and vision delivered with integrity in a manner of statesmanship worthy of and to the status of a President of the United States, I did not hear. What I heard was 3 more years of the same. A Corporate-Wall Street-Big Bank guided agenda with no attention paid to the sweat, blood, and tears streaming down the face of lady liberty.

Federal Property Off Limits to the Homeless
The Department of Housing and Urban Development announced on Jan. 29, 2010 that federal property is unsuitable for use to assist the homeless.
The U.S. governemnt has millions of acres of land. This land is being used in many ways by the public, by private corporations, and by a variety of organizations, yet it is not being used for the purpose of saving lives and families.
The public uses federal land mainly as parks or as reserves for endangered species. They use these parks as areas of recreation. The public takes camping trips or other types of sight-seeing tours to enjoy America's beauty. That is, the wealthy families do. America's poor and homeless leave that to their one day bucket lists. Corporations see the federal land as an opportunity for profits. They cut down the trees, mine the minerals, and set-up organized camping areas to bilk the public out of their money just to experience their own public land. Schools and other organizations use the land to study nature or protect it from man's harmful affects, yet at the same time, charging a fee to do so.
None of the before mentioned uses serves the public in such a way as providing a space where a family might flower and grow in the security of a home. Thousands of the millions of acres are suitable for building a home and starting a garden. A use for which has gone unseen, unheard, unheralded, and under-recognized as one of the greatest ways to help the homeless of America.
Federal land has been given to American homeless before, in fact, 1.6 million acres of land was granted for such use between 1862 and 1916.
The Homestead Act of 1862 provided a growing population with the land Americans needed to live, prosper, and grow. This was furthered by the Enlarged Homestead Act of 1909, and the Stock-Raising Homestead Act of 1916. These humanitarian acts indeed set the course for America's strength and prosperity to flourish and grow. America's strength has always been her people, who are of various types, but all have the backbone, desire, and American spirit to set forth upon the land and develop it with homes and farms.
The Veteran's Land Warranty also helped many Americans obtain a piece of land after fighting in the Civil War. Do veterans of today's wars deserve any less? Do the homeless of today's economic crisis of the twenty-first century deserve any less than the settlers of the 1860's?
Mark R. Johnston, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Special Needs in the Department of Housing and Urban Development doesn't think so. By his report, dated January 29, 2010, as published in the Federal Register claims that no federal land is of suitable use to the homeless. He apparently did not take any Forestry, Shop, Agriculture, or Home-Economics classes in school. Hundreds of thousands of the millions of acreage that the U.S. Government owns (known as Federal Property)is suitable for development. It is far more suitable than back alleys and street corners and sidewalks where they are prodded along and shewed away. This was as if the National Coalition for the Homeless hadn't won their case against the Veteran's Administration back in December of 1988. Veteran's rights, the rights of the homeless, are American's rights. the constitution states "provide for the general welfare". This seems to be one of those times in American history when the governemnt can do the most good by instead of a debt load heaped upon them by Fanny Mae or Freddy Mac, that a grant of title to 80 acres shall be made after they meet the condition set out by the Homestead Act of 1862: build a home 12X14, five(5)yrs. continuance occupancy, and make a garden.
My own family tree shows titles of land granted to them by the Homestead Acts and the War Veteran Warranty Act, sadly most of this has been taken by the banks and corporations that have grown up around a once free and sovereign nation.

Heath Check: the State of a Nation
The big day has arrived. President Obama will give his "State of the Union Address" to the nation. He faces many challenges that few presidents have. Will he speak to the people, who are concerned about jobs, foreclosures, the mounting debt, and healthcare, or will he speak to Wall Street and Corporate America? The nation faces an economy on the brink of collapse, another decade of War, and a disconnectedness with Washington D.C. that seems to confuse politicians. Does President Obama have the leadership ability to lead the nation out of this crisis? He won an award for peace, yet wages war, so it is easy to see why there is confusion. The nation did, in the past, fight a war to end all wars, so there is hope, but maybe it is the audacity of hope.
Many questions remain. The nation is divided in many ways. Will the President speak without making a reference to September 11, 2001? While he wages war stemming from that day, how can he not. But, in so doing, does he not also leave an opening for people to ask questions. Questions about 9/11.
got a time machine and a good camera?
because realistically speaking, it would be just re-hashing a long drawn out subject with no real substantive progress on the who's and how's. Not saying put this dog to rest, just nothing new to report.
The future holds unknowns. Maybe the day will come when a politician with class and integrity steps forward and says lets discuss this openly, not with bias or insinuations, but with an open agenda and follow the different trails and see where they lead. Involve many panels and teams of investigators. Some of the American population are satisfied with reports already given, however; many others are still asking valid questions to which these past reports fail to mention or avoid entirely. As we approach a decade apart from the tragic occurance of 9/11, time doesn't heal all wounds. let us not forget our brothers and sisters that expired that day, and to their memory we shall continue the effort to bring forward the truth in its entirety be it shame on America or not.
Moving forward as a nation through tough political, economic, and national identity times can only be achieved by being aware of the "State of the Nation" in all it ramifications. This must include an honest appraisal of the past, and it is to this past that we draw a question mark. People are divided. Questions remain unanswered. Many "camps" have been formed and throwing them all into the category of conspiracy theorists is mis-guided. The void in leadership, statesmanship, diplomacy, and accountability weighs down on Washington D.C. like an achor on the tail of a kite. Sweet liberty she wants to fly, but she cannot. The winds of freedom cannot lift her and the anchor of corruption.
it may be better to weave a huge American flag and drap it over the Statue of Liberty that none may see it and mistake it for a beacon to the weary of the world seeking to escape the dictators, the oppressors, the totalitarianists and land upon our shores only to join the long lines at the food banks, employment offices, vaccination centers, homeless shelters, and the string of buses loading up the illegals to send them back to the front lines of the hells they fought so hard and dreamed to escape.

U.S. Aid to Yemen $63 or $150 Million
According to the Christian Science Monitor of Jan. 21, 2010 an article by Caryle Murphy states that U.S. officials plan to spend $63 million in aid to Yemen. This changes when you read the Reuters story of Jan. 21, 2010 by Adam Entous, who states that General Petreaus is asking for $150 million in aid for Yemen.
That is $63 or $150 million that won't go into the U.S. economy but, instead, comes out of taxpayer pockets. The American economy is on the brink of collapse. A record number of home foreclosures, homeless citizens, unemployed citizens stare at the news in disbelief that the government officials of the United States could be so unaware of its own domestic issues.
The U.S. cares not for its own people, the U.S. foreign policy says. Continued bailouts of other nation economies will deal the final death blow to the United States.
Washington D.C. has certainly lost its way. That is up to $150 million dollars that could have been used to stimulate business, or start new business on U.S. soil. $150 million that could have been used to house American citizens or help them stabalize local economies in this new Great Depression.

Rebuilding Yemen and Waiting for the Bill
Now that the United States has expanded its war on terror to Yemen, the American taxpayer can soon expect another bill to be laid upon President Obama's desk, via congress. The American people, who are reeling from very tough economic times, though Wall Street seems to have bounced back, are soon to be faced with the financial task of rebuilding Yemen.
The President and congress are on an unlimited spending spree. The "War on Terror" is spreading from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and now into Yemen with Uzbekistan next on the list. Patty Murray, the democratic Senator from Washington State, said it quite clearly when President George W. Bush decided to go into Iraq with the tag line, "You break it, you buy it". So, with bombing raids now covering more and more of the Middle-East, the American taxpayer can be expected to cash in the rest of what they own, drain their bank accounts, and do their part to push the Whitehouse's Foreign Policy further across the globe in the Democratization of the planet with the rebuild as you go mind-set. Does China or the other lending nations, share this vision? The United States is broke. It borrows to implement its own Federal programs, and keep its military afloat, all this on the backs of the American taxpayer and its generations to come.
The American people grumble, but continue to pay in more ways than taxes as their own liberties fade in order to stay safe from terror. Air raids on Yemen will bring the U.S. into accountability for the damage. No announcements have been made to the public in regards to the need to re-structure the government of Yemen, but since they are harboring terrorists as Afghanistan and Iraq were, it can't be far off. The U.S. Treasury is stacked full of I.O.U.'s to other countries, so as the bombing raids of Yemen continue, the American tax payer waits for the President or congress to drop a bomb in the form of another spending bill to cover the damages.

Federal Preparedness & Trust
President Barack Obama issued Executive Order #13527 on Dec. 30, 2009
which got published in the Federal Register in January 2010. The Executive Order was issued to prepare for the event of a biological attack on the U.S. populace, namely, an anthrax attack. The Executive Branch ordered the United Postal Service to deliver vaccines into the infected area by the use of the Postal Service. It also orders State & Local enforcement agencies to prepare to assist in the delivery of the vaccines.
With the fading trust the public has with the government, this is seen by many people refusing to get vaccinated for the H1N1 influenza virus because of fears that the vaccination is actually infecting the public with something else or just the health concerns over lack of testing of the anti-viral drugs involved, so the U.S. government has an uphill battle with trying to regain the public's trust. Many alternative media sources are abuzz with lack of faith in the government. They cite President Obama's campaign promises as examples of say one thing do another. It is true that President Obama promised to close Gitmo, bring the troops home from Afghanistan, and approve no bills with earmarks in them. On all three of these promises, the President has reneged.
Now, ordering that the public believe him in such a serious situation as biologic warfare or disaster, his integrity comes into question. The President will soon deliver his State of the Union Address, Jan. 27, 2010. This provides a new opportunity for the President to start to rebuild trust with the public. No previous mention has been made to the public of the Postal Service delivery plan. Is this because it really is part of some other bigger move to reduce the population through biological warfare, or just a Public Relations mistake.
The President speaks of transparency, but continues to maneuver behind the scenes.
Will the police show up with the Postman and force vaccination?
The public is left to guess and take other measures to protect themselves, as the government remains silent and deals behind closed doors on healthcare reform and foreign country invasion. WHO's side is the President on? The public or the corporate?
